Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability Forum re: CPD Superintendent Search
COPA attended the Community Commission for Public Safety & Accountability (CCPSA) CPD Superintendent Search Forum, which was held at Kehrein Center for the Arts. This was the first of four community forums held as part of the search for Chicago’s next police superintendent. Attendees at the meeting were able to share their views on the qualifications and experience they want to see in Chicago’s next superintendent.

Northeastern Illinois University Health Fair
COPA plans to attend this resource fair to connect with the community and help residents understand our agency. At this outreach event COPA plans to set up a resource table and share its agency role in police misconduct.

Chicago’s Citywide Clean & Green Day of Service
On Saturday, April 22, 2023, COPA along with other city departments will participate in Chicago’s Annual Clean & Green Day of Service. This event, which coincides annually with Earth Day, is an opportunity for residents, community groups and city departments to join together and beautify Chicago neighborhoods through the cleaning and maintenance of vacant lots. Beautification of neighborhoods is a vital component of public safety and COPA is proud to join in the effort.

Chicago Police Board Meeting
The Police Board holds a regular public meeting once a month. The following City officials (or their designees) are required to be at the Board's meetings: Superintendent of Police, Chief Administrator of the Civilian Office of Police Accountability, Chief of the Chicago Police Department's Bureau of Internal Affairs, and the Deputy Inspector General for Public Safety.
Members of the public are invited to attend and are welcome to address questions or comments to the Board. Prior sign-up is required of those wishing to address the Board; to add your name to the list of speakers, please contact the Board's office at 312.742.4194 or PoliceBoard@cityofchicago.org up to 15 minutes before the meeting begins.
