Multi-Agency Resource Center

COPA staff along with various city, state, and federal agencies gathered at Arturo Velazquez West Side Technical Institute in the Chicago Lawn area to inform and connect new immigrants to various resources and services that are available to assist them as they transition to life in Chicago at the Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC). 

New Life Centers Food Distribution Community Event

COPA attended the New Life Centers Food Distribution community event in Humboldt Park to tell residents about our agency and help pass out food. Hundreds of residents attended the event to learn about a variety of community services and to receive fresh produce from the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

Marquette Park Community Resource Fair

COPA participated in the Marquette Park Community Resource Fair. This free community event offered the public community resources, fun activities, and food. During COPA’s participation, the agency was able to engage residents and share its role in police oversight.

Yollocalli’s Anti-Valentine Day Party at the National Museum of Mexican Art

COPA attended the Yollocalli’s Anti-Valentine’s Day Party hosted by the National Museum of Mexican Art. Yollocalli is part of the museum’s youth initiative that offered close to 500 young people on Friday, February 8th a safe and fun night filled with music, food, dancing, art, community resources and a stigma-free environment to learn about sexual health.

The Leaders Network Community Meeting

COPA plans to attend this meeting comprised of faith and community leaders that work together to organize, strategize and mobilize to improve the quality of life for the west side communities.

TASC Chatham Parole Meeting

On February 15th, COPA visited TASC Chatham parole office and discussed the importance of police oversight to a group of returning citizens learning about effective ways to overcome barriers to re-entry.
