37th Ward Back to School Gospel Fest

COPA plans to participate in the 23rd Annual 37th Ward Back to School Gospel Fest. 37th Ward Alderman Emma Mitts in conjunction with Global Outreach Ministries and Black Men United is hosting this event and it will be held at Lafollete Park (1333 N. Laramie Avenue). This festival is the largest free to the public event held in the 37th Ward that promotes the theme of "Unity in the Community."  Come learn more about COPA and also enjoy this festival filled with food, live entertainment and community resources. 

Leaders Network Community Meeting

COPA will attend this meeting comprised of faith and community leaders that work together to organize, strategize, and mobilize to improve the quality of life for the west side communities.

LUCHA & PLAYSTREETS Block Party

COPA will be present at the LUCHA & PLAYSTREETS Block Party to share with members of the community the role the agency plays in police oversight. This free event open to the public will offer community resources, music, games, food and more.

North Lawndale My Chi My Future (MCMF) Summer Kickback Series

COPA will participate in this My Chi. My Future. (MCMF) Summer Kickback community event series. This free teen friendly initiative is a part of the City of Chicago’s MCMF effort to connect Chicago’s youth with safe and engaging spaces.

CPS Back To School Bash at Finkl Elementary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is hosting Back-to-School Bashes for students and families to celebrate and prepare for the start of the 2022-23 school year. COPA will participate in the CPS bashes to celebrate the new school year and also explain to families the role our agency plays in police accountability. This event will take place on August 12th starting at 2pm at Finkl Elementary located at 2332 S. Western Avenue, Chicago, IL 60608.

COPA will be present at the LUCHA & PLAYSTREETS Block Party to share with members of the community the role the agency plays in police oversight. This free event open to the public will offer community resources, music, games, food and more.

COPA and the City Clerk Mobile City Hall Community Event

COPA plans to  join Anna Valencia City Clerk Office along with various other city departments and sister agencies to connect with the community.  At this mobile outreach event COPA will have a resource table and share with the public the agency role in police oversight and explain COPA’s complaint process from intake to case closure.  This event will take place at Marquette Park (6743 S. Kedzie).
