COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT EVENTS WEEK OF 8.14.23
COPA had a great time engaging the residents of Chicago in the community during the week of 8.14.23. Our office is committed to helping residents understand how to file a complaint or compliment an officer and explain to the public our role in police oversight. Below is a brief description of our most recent community engagement efforts. CPS Back to School Bash at Finkl Academy – 8.15.23
Chicago Public Schools (CPS) held several Back-to-School Bashes for students and families to celebrate and prepare for the start of the 2023-24 school year. COPA participated in the CPS bash to celebrate the new school year and explain to families the role our agency plays in police accountability.
City Clerk Mobile City Hall Community Resource Fair at Hamilton Park – 8.15.23
COPA joined Anna Valencia City Clerk Office along with various other city departments and sister agencies to connect with the community. At this mobile outreach event, COPA had a resource table and shared with the public the agency’s role in police accountability.

COPA participated in Lowell Elementary Back to School Fiesta Escolar to celebrate the new school year and explain to families the role our agency plays in police accountability. This event was held to help students prepare for the start of the 2023-23 school year, which begins on August 21, 2023.
