COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT EVENTS WEEK OF 2.5.24

COPA had a great time engaging the residents of Chicago in the community during the week of 2.5.24. Our office is committed to helping residents understand how to file a complaint or compliment an officer and explain to the public our role in police oversight. Below is a brief description of our most recent community engagement efforts. COPA in the Community at Legler Regional Chicago Public Library – 2.5.24

COPA visited Legler Regional Chicago Public Library to help residents in the community learn more about our agency’s mission and vision. During COPA’s visit, we provided the public with an overview of our agency, explained the importance of police oversight, and answered questions that residents had about our agency.

CCPSA Shot Spotter Hearing – 2.8.24
COPA attended a special meeting held by the Community Commission for Public Safety & Accountability (CCPSA) at St. Sabina Church. This public hearing was held to discuss the gunshot detection technology commonly referred to as ShotSpotter. Panelists and members of the public were encouraged to dive into the technology being used in our city.
